The Professor H.C. Ho Memorial Medical Assistance Programme was established in 2006 in memory of HKACS founder, the late Professor John Ho Hung-chiu. Many patients who come from families with average or below household income cannot afford self-financed drugs listed by the Hospital Authority. They face the agony of knowing that there are drugs around which could treat their cancer but not with in their reach financially. The Programme helps to fill this gap by seeking donations from benevolent individuals, private funds, charitable foundations, corporations and pharmaceutical companies either in cash or in kind. We have helped more than 7,000 patients through this Programme with drugs and cash given out amounted to around nearly HK$500 million in total.

The following are the designated drug financial assistance programmes under the Professor H.C. Ho Memorial Medical Assistance Programme:
  • Chow Tai Fook Medical Foundation Cancer Drug Financial Assistance Programme
  • Mr. & Mrs. Kwok Cancer Drug Financial Assistance Programme
  • "Reborn" Cancer Drugs Financial Assistance Programme
