“Hong Kong Cancer Day 2025 - Mindfulness. Togetherness” Successfully Concludes
The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society proudly announces the successful conclusion of “Hong Kong Cancer Day 2025 – Mindfulness. Togetherness”, which brought together the public and professionals to promote cancer prevention and patient support. We sincerely thank all participants for joining hands in this meaningful cause.
Highlights included Dr. Anne LEE, Vice Chairman of HKACS sharing Hong Kong’s latest cancer statistics and announcing that HKACS will co-host the World Cancer Congress 2026 with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), bringing global expertise to Hong Kong.
Professor LO Chung-mau, Secretary for Health, emphasised the parallels between cancer control and disaster preparedness, both requiring early action and collaboration, and commended HKACS’s achievements despite no government funding.
Mrs. CHU YEUNG Pak-yu, Patricia, Chairman of HKACS, expressed gratitude to speakers and donors, especially the “Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation” for supporting the three-year "Walking Hand-in-Hand" Community Cancer Support Services for Cancer Patients and Caregivers ”, ensuring free, tailored services for patients and caregivers.
This year’s theme, “Mindfulness. Togetherness”, resonated deeply, with inspiring talks by Rev. CHAU King-fun, Edward, Master Jing Lian, and Dr. SHAM Kwan-ho, Adrian, moderated by Ms. Janet WONG, offering hope and strength to all.
The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society remains committed to advancing cancer prevention, treatment, and support, walking hand-in hand with cancer patients and caregivers through life’s challenges.
